When we got back from Christmas, we took the Santa gift certificate down to a small animal rescue center to adopt two guinea pigs. The lady helping us knew just the right pair- a set of guinea pig brothers. They were mellow and happy to sit in our boys' laps and they loved the colors- so next thing we knew, they were ours! The boys do a great job of taking care of their pets. Logan named his guinea pig Choo-choo because he is black like a train with a white smoke stack. Seth named his Eclipse, which was the guinea pig's original name and after tossing around a few others Seth thought Eclipse was still the most fitting. Guinea pigs make the funniest noises and these two learned quickly that when the pool room fridge door opens- it could mean a fresh treat so they go crazy making all kinds of noise. Also, we built them their own home with an open top so it is easy for the boys to care for them and pick them up.
