Quality Television Programming (and Movies) and Other News

It came to my attention this week just how much of our television watching is nature shows (especially the last couple of weeks).

Logan said, as a little stuffed snake slid out from behind his big snake, "Look Mom! Look! The snake is just giving birth! It's giving birth right now to a baby snake!"

Oh, isn't that nice! (And, yes, for all you non-nature-show-watching folks: some snakes do give birth to live babies.)

Seth and Logan know more details about more animals than I even knew existed!

In other news...

Logan expressed his artistic skills by drawing all over the playroom walls with a pen. Of course, he keeps learning his letter sounds and loves preschool.

Seth continues to impress. He came out on the 'A' honor roll again this 9 weeks, and exceeded the standards for a reading and phonics test. Additionally, he is having harder math homework and harder spelling words sent home. At the beginning of the week there is a spelling pre-test for the regular spelling list. Any kid who successfully spells all those words gets a list of challenge spelling words for the week, instead of working on the regular list. Seth kept complaining that the challenge list was still "way too easy" so his teacher is now sending an even harder list home. Seth loves it.

I took the boys over to Government Canyon to do a little hiking last week, and we are hoping to plan a couple of camping weekends and do some more hiking very soon. Seth also is excited to break out the fishing poles again.
