Thunderstorms flooded Barton Springs which dashed our hopes of doing some serious wading/swimming on Monday. But we hiked along the bank and saw many turtles, geese, ducks, and a swan family! The boys enjoyed hiking one particular uphill, where the water was draining creating a little creek to walk in. Seth also trooped through all the deep puddles he could find. The geese were also enjoying the puddles which gave Logan and I good reason to walk around. After a long walk we enjoyed a picnic, and were disappointed that the train was undergoing repairs for the morning. So, we played some on the playground before heading home. Hopefully, we can get back down there and canoe, ride the train, and mostly do lots more walking and wading.
On another note, this last weekend we took a last minute trip to Dallas, for some good times. We went to the theater and saw Shrek 3, and did some bowling. Matt (Jim's brother) and Theresa were kind enough to put us up (or put up with us) in their lovely home, at which place Logan had an awesome night worth of sleep. Hopefully the sleeping while traveling trend continues for the next couple of months. (Is one night really a trend? Probably not, but I am being hopeful!) And you may notice a new link to
Seth enjoyed his first abacus class! He also had a buddy, Hayden, sleep over last night. Seth's list to plan his sleepover read something like this...
"-Sleepover
-Movies
- Stay up Late
-Eat 10 cake and 100 brownie and 210 ice cream."
We settled on pizza for dinner with a couple cupcakes with frosting and sprinkles, and extra time reading in bed before lights out.

sounds like you guys have tons of fun! wish i could be there to go with-sometimes things here get a LITTLE quiet! an abacus class--is it just learning how to use one? ...i could go for 210 ice cream... :-)
As always the pics are wonderful! Was that a walking stick?! Wow, he was a biggie. And a thunderstorm - what's that again?? We haven't seen a thunderstorm in 3 yrs but we did hear a clap of thunder once.

Following on to Mom's comment, it might be more likely to hear an earthquake around here than it is to hear a thunderstorm. (Probably not really, but it made our environment sound more exciting.)
I am very interested to see what Seth is learning in abacus class. We'll keep the one in the living room warmed up and ready to go for him. (Acutally, it probably won't get even touched until he comes, but all the parts seem to be in working order.)
And while Melissa is going for the ice cream, I'll sign up for the brownies.
