A new family member...

This is our new puppy! Seth, Logan, and I had run to the store and stopped next door at Petco to look at the animals. Seth loves to look at the reptiles! They had a rescue group out front doing dog adoptions! They had so many cute dogs out there! They had these 3 precious puppies. I loved them, but restrained myself and didn't bring one home. Later I told Jim on the phone that he would have loved these puppies, but I knew we weren't ready for one and so I didn't bring one home. Well, Jim took the initiative of going back by the Petco to check them out and couldn't resist! Although at the shelter his name was Alvin, Seth aptly named him Chompy, Chomp for short. His official full name is Chomp Ruff-Ruff Ritter. (perhaps it should be Ruff-Ruff II). Chomp is aptly named as true to puppy nature he loves to chomp and chew everything. However, at 12 weeks old he already does not poop in the house and frequently makes it outside to pee as well! He is quickly learning sit, shake, and come. He also loves his little bed in the garage and will wander out there when he gets tired of playing. (Do puppies ever really get tired?) He is 1/2 Rottweiler and 1/2 German Shepherd. Yes we know that Rotts are notoriously more aggressive; however, there are plenty of well mannered ones as well. Not to mention he is also half German Shepherd (who are smart and loyal) and he is just a puppy. He is sweet and loves to play with his chew toys and romp around the yard with Seth and his friends. Logan loves to crawl after him and will not eat or play with any toys as long as Chomp is around to entertain him!
