Memorial Day

We wanted to make Memorial Day special to help the boys recognize the reason we celebrate it, instead of thinking it is just a fun day for bar-b-q and swimming. So, we headed down to Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery at Point Loma. Flags were posted everywhere. What a beautiful service was held! There were some nice readings and a short speech, and lots of singing/music. I was proud that Seth and Logan not only knew the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem, but they also knew God Bless America. Seth also recently memorized The Preamble to the United States Constitution! After the service we spent some time walking the grounds and looking at the view over the bay.
