This past weekend we headed to Houston with some friends for all the girls to run a trail run half-marathon.
The whole group the night before. Of course my eyes are closed.
and the sun made the picture look weird, but it was the only one we took.
The race. Jim was our fabulous photographer- running all over the place to see us pass by at different spots.
Finishing the first loop, out of two. The girl with me in the royal blue is Summer: she and I trained together and stuck together through the whole race too. Fun!
Giving high fives to my best fans- Seth and Logan!
Getting closer to...
...the finish line! Our time was actually 2:10:40 Summer and I ran together the whole way, but our other friend Jessica finished way ahead of us and took 1st in our age group and 6th overall! We were 21st and 22nd in our age group out of approximately 60 girls.
Seth and Logan posing with Petey the Pelican. Seabrook has a lot of these pelican statues all around town.
Our turn to pose with Petey!
Tired, but happy to have had such a great run!
Our race numbers had our names printed on them, which was awesome because a lot of the volunteers and spectators would cheer for each runner personally! It was neat.

You all look too fresh to have run that far! That's an accomplishment to be proud of. Anyone sore the next day?
Woot, woot! Good job, Julie!
That's awesome! What a great accomplishment.
