We were honored to attend the Cub Scout's Blue and Gold Banquet this week. The theme was "Texas" and the decorations and activities were superb. We had baked potatoes with chili for dinner, we learned lots of things about Cub Scouts and Texas, and the boys put on a couple of funny skits!
The boys also decorated "Texas" themed cakes. Seth did a round chocolate cake with strawberry frosting, with blue frosting on the top edge. Then he used M&Ms to make a bluebonnet and write "Howdy" across the front. On the sides he used brown M&Ms to make a rope and also spelled his name. I forgot to take a picture until after some of the cake had been eaten:
Seth's cake award: "Most Colorful"
We had a great time and are thankful for the time and effort our cub scout leaders put into making it a success for all the boys! Seth is looking forward to day camp in June!

Awesome work on the cake, Seth! Very cool!
Sounds like a fun evening. Great cake, Seth! And Joel and I had to smile about the Texas theme. That's what we love about Texas most - more state pride than any other state!
That looks fun, and the cake... yummy! Way to go Seth!
He looks great in his uniform! Plus, he's artistic, too!
