We had a fun weekend planned!

"Had" being the key word in the title. Matt (Jim's bro), Theresa and baby cousin Cannon came down to Austin, Seth had a flag football game and a birthday party to attend, and I was going to finish off Saturday night with a babysitter and a girls' night out. (Note: The babysitter for Saturday was to cover 1-2 hours until Jim's return due to Jim's crazy trip to Dallas which warrants a whole other post by itself.) But alas, the fun wasn't to be. I bet if I gave everyone three guesses they could figure out why. Logan is sick again. Little guy had a mild sniffle and fever yesterday evening after being tired and at home all day which is no biggie. But it is enough to keep us home bound. And today he is doing worse which is rough on everyone (which actually is just me right now). He was happy this morning, but after nap his fever was almost 103F and has the beginnings of a barking and hacking cough. Poor little guy. To Logan's enjoyment we rented not one, but TWO, Thomas the Tank Engine videos (plus a Diego one) and so he is happy to chill in front of the TV. (which he is doing right now since I spent all of his nap time writing papers for school). Due to kind friends, Seth still made the birthday party and also will get a few hours of extra play time. And Jim might even make it home in time for me to get out tonight, if I can just get enough school work done.

But onto better news....

Seth had his second flag football game of the season. During both games he had some excellent runs and pulled a few flags. In one game he was the QB and they were supposed to do a fake hand off followed by a reverse (there might be a shorter/better way of explaining that play) but his teammate forgot to come get the ball after the fake leaving Seth puzzled and alone. But, surprisingly Seth thought on the spot and threw an awesome 15 yard or so pass to his teammate, who made an equally awesome catch and took off running! We were so proud of Seth!! Unfortunately, he didn't get it passed within the 7 second time limit for their age group so the play actually was dead and it didn't count. But we were still so excited to see him successfully take charge of the play! All the kids get to rotate through the positions so it is fun to see him QB, run, and play defense. I will get some pictures up soon!!

And, Mom and Dad, when you read this upon your return from Turkey you should know how much I appreciate being able to call and vent when Logan is sick. So, thanks!!!!!!
