Creature Feature

Seth caught a lizard last week that he wanted to save until his turn for show-and-tell came. So, we let him keep it for a few days in the habitat we created. But on Wednesday morning we could not find Mr. Lizard. We took the whole habitat apart multiple times. So, Seth caught a toad from within our sprinkler box to take for show and tell; however, while traveling to school the toad unearthed Mr. Lizard, much to Seth's delight. Seth named his toad Fred. After a long terrifing day at school, for Fred and Mr. Lizard, we released Fred back to the sprinkler box, and sometime during that Mr. Lizard took off as well.

Here is a picture of Seth with Fred, and another of the boys in the backyard.

That looks like a rather big toad! And the name is a good family name, too. Seth's great-great grandfather (Fredrick Charles Evans) and his great-great-great grandfather (Fredrick Henry Evans) both had that as a given name. Of course, I'm assuming that had little to do with his choice of names.
